How to report bugs

This forum was the official place for bug reports until flyspray was opened. Do not post new bug reports or errors here anymore, use Flyspray instead.

How to report bugs

Postby Janne Huttunen » Sun Dec 16, 2007 6:08 am

You can report bugs and other error to Locate32's Flyspray system. You can do that anomuously. Previously bugs are collected here but Flyspray is more preferrable.

First of all, unless you are completely sure that have found a bug (e.g., Locate32 has crashed), take a look at the help file (especially the help page of feature, control or option in question and "General issues" and "How To" sections). The help file is not complete but may contain useful information (often some features or options just works differently as it would be assumed). You can also take a look at Locate32 Support section.

If you are using a language other than English, change to English and check how that works.
An old translation file is often a reason for unexpected behaviour.

To report a bug or other error, follow the following rules:

At first, check the existing topics here to see whether someone else is already reported about this problem. If not, please create a new topic containing at least the following information:
- A detailed description about the bug or error. For example, tell us that how that bug or error occurred, what you did when it happened and if an error message is shown, what was that error message (precisely).
- The exact version of Locate32 (e.g., see About dialog).
- Your operation system (e.g., Windows XP SP2).
Tell us also all other information that you think may help to replicate the problem!

Please post only one bug per one message, unless those bugs are somehow related to each other.
